BioBalance Health always recommends personalized exercise for our patients based on their health, age, medical issues and goals for fitness.  We refer many of our patients to Orangetheory® to help them achieve their health and weight loss goals. The Orangetheory® program works perfectly with our testosterone pellet therapy, so we often direct our patients to specific Orangetheroy® studio locations.

Just like BioBalance hormone pellet replacement is unique, every Orangtheory® program is not the same either. The two Orangetheory® gyms in St. Louis owned by Nick Ahlering and his brothers Andy and Connor are superior to any other Orangetheory® sites in our area, and they are the most fun and they get the best results. Our patients look forward to their workouts at the Ahlering Orangetheories, and we can see the superior progress evidenced by their body composition tests in our office.

The Ahlering Orangetheories are located in two areas of St. Louis that are convenient for most of our patients. Both sites are energized by the Ahlering mojo that makes one ask for “more work out classes please!”

I have known Nick and brothers Andy and Connor for decades. Nick and Andy spearheaded bringing Orangetheory® to St. Louis. Nick has always been a man who aims for the best most amazing goals and we are interviewing him this week. Nick’s method of owning and managing Orangetheory is the same as his personality. He searched for and found the best exercise method for many of BioBalance Health’s patients and Dr. Sullivan and her husband Evan are frequent fliers at the Ladue location. The Ahlering family style of managing Orangetheory involves personalizing the workouts in ways that make them enjoyable and successful in establishing and achieving your goals.  Their mother, Julie Ahlering, Olympic diver and diving Judge even teaches classes at the Chesterfield location. Nick, Andy, and Connor share their love of exercise and sports with their clients, my patients, and they only offer them the best.

What is Orangetheory, why is it so different?  It is ultimately a science backed class-based workout system. We use resistance tools and cardio workouts in an all- encompassing way to achieve the goals you set for yourself. We utilize heart rate monitors that our clients wear when they come in and they can keep a constant check on their progress.  We are teaching people to compete with themselves to get a level of heart rate performance up to a healthy level. We offer the opportunity to compete with your fellow work out class members, but you are not required to do that. Many of our members love that competitive process. Clients can compete against a goal or a friend to reach a level of achievement that is good for them. We want you to make progress and to be happy and excited about the work out you are getting.

We generally challenge our clients to get their heart rate up above 84% of its maximum for at least 12 minutes. The benefits from this will last for 36 hours after your workout. This helps burn fat and get your heart rate down and build muscle.

Our trainers are well trained in the Orangtheory® approach to working out and they will help you learn what your ideal goals are and work to find a practical workout strategy that will help you reach those goals. We find that monitoring your work and encouraging you with feedback that keeps you on top of your progress will result in the ideal gain in fitness and weight loss that you are seeking when you come to us.

How do you help people with metabolic issues such as diabetes and obesity? How do you help people that are not historically open to exercise programs?  At Orangetheory we spend time acquiring accurate information about your health history and find out where you are when you start. Then we attempt to teach you how to progress at your own skill level or case. Different cases function at different levels. We help you find your case and then reach the limits of the base case we then challenge you to go to a push case and that is a harder exercise rate for you. You will be happy with the progress you find when you reach new levels of increasing performance. We monitor those closely with the heart monitor and you can share it with your classmates if you choose to do so.

We find that what works best is to get a good foundation based on science and accurate information in order to individualize your workout so that we help you progress in healthy ways to become stronger, and to lose weight. Studies show that people progress better and faster if they have good feedback support and someone to answer to. We want to have a good relationship with our clients so that we can safely take you where you are and to guide you to the place you want to be.

Be sure to listen this week so you can learn about the newest and most exciting work out centers in St. Louis. Work out where they work with you and for you to help achieve your goals and be a healthier happier person.
